Sony Pictures has revealed the first domestic and international one-sheets for “Inferno,” the third film adaptation of a novel featuring Dan Brown’s Harvard symbologist Professor Robert Langdon character who appeared in 2006’s “The Da Vinci Code” and 2009’s “Angels and Demons”.
Like those two previous films, Tom Hanks is set to reprise his role as Langdon, Ron Howard is back in the director’s chair with his partner Brian Grazer is producing. Also, once again, David Koepp penning the script.
The story sees Langdon waking up in an Italian hospital with amnesia. He teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Florence, Venice and Istanbul in an effort to foil a deadly global plot tied back to Dante’s divine comedy.
Also onboard are “Life of Pi” star Irrfan Khan as The Provost, “The Intouchables” scene stealer Omar Sy as Christoph Bruder, “Borgen” lead actress Sidse Babett Knudsen as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, and Ben Foster as the film’s villain. The film is slated to open October 28th.
