A report emerged late yesterday in The Hollywood Reporter that Natalie Portman was offered the lead role in Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming sci-fi drama “Gravity”.
A few hours later came an MTV News article saying Portman is also being courted to star in a biopic about singer Jerry Lee Lewis. That report however cites the person pursuing her as “‘Robin Hood’ director Terrence Malick” who also wants Brad Pitt to star as Lewis. In other words, complete bullshit.
Now Portman’s representatives have shot down all reports. In regards to “Gravity”, the rep tells Techland the report isn’t just “very premature” but “a lot of the information is inaccurate. Everything is pretty much just rumored.”
She added “We did not announce anything this morning in relation to Gravity” and thinks much of the positive buzz around Portman’s performance in “Black Swan” has been fanning the flames. As for the Lewis movie, the rep says this was the first time she heard of Portman co-starring in any movie with Brad Pitt.
