Imogen Poots is set to lead the second remake of “Black Christmas” for Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures.
Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Lily Donoghue and Caleb Eberhardt will also star in the horror film which has already set a December 13th release date.
The original 1974 film is considered the first true slasher feature and starred the likes of Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder and John Saxon. It follows a female sorority who finds themselves being stalked by a menacing killer during the holidays.
The property was remade in 2006 by Dimension Films with Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the main roles.
Sophia Takal is directing the new remake and co-wrote the script with April Wolfe. Jason Blum, Ben Cosgrove and Adam Hendricks will produce and shooting will take place in New Zealand.
