“The Spectacular Now” and “Smashed” helmer James Ponsoldt is attached to direct Temple Hill Entertainment’s indie biopic “Rodham” about Hillary Clinton’s early years.
The 2012 Black List script by South Korean screenwriter Young Il Kim is set during the height of the Watergate scandal in the 1970s. At the time, Hillary Rodham was the youngest lawyer chosen for the House Judiciary Committee to Impeach Nixon.
She soon finds herself forced to choose between a destined path to the White House, and her unresolved feelings for former boyfriend and Arkansas law teacher Bill Clinton.
Richard Arlook, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are producing.
