The world premiere of “Ghostbusters” took over the TCL Chinese Theater on Saturday in Los Angeles where not just the various actors but many of the key people involved in the film’s making also showed up.
One of them was producer Amy Pascal who, talking with THR on the red carpet, said we can expect plenty of sequels should audiences respond well:
“I have waited for this moment for a year. It’s going to be endless. People are going to love this movie so much that’s they’re going to demand more and more.”
Tom Rothman, chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s motion picture group, was also there and says the negativity towards the reboot has actually helped in some ways:
“All that stuff has been great. It’s been great for the movie. The movie is a comedy, an entertaining comedy, but it is also now a real important part of the social conversation and you don’t usually get to do both of those things.”
Reviews so far have been mixed to positive – with Kate McKinnon’s character proving to be the main standout of the cast.
