Aubrey Plaza (“Legion”) and Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”) are reportedly both in negotiations to star in the upcoming contemporary remake of horror classic “Child’s Play” at MGM.
The original 1988 movie followed a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray who casts a spell that traps his soul inside the body of a Good Guy doll named Chucky, which is then given to a young boy. The doll comes to life and starts killing people.
The new take is reportedly expected to follow a group of kids dealing with a technologically-advanced doll that has been re-programmed into a murderous machine by a disgruntled doll manufacturing employee.
Lars Klevberg (“Polaroid”) helms from a script by Tyler Burton Smith (“Kung Fury 2”) while David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce. Filming begins shortly in Vancouver.
