It was expected, and now Sony has officially confirmed that the PlayStation 5 won’t be released during Sony’s 2019 fiscal year which ends March 2020. The company confirmed the news as part of its year-end earnings report.
It comes a month after Sony released the first official details for the next-gen console which hasn’t settled on an official name at this point. Said console is said to support ray tracing graphics and includes a high-speed solid-state hard drive.
Neither Microsoft nor Nintendo have officially announced new hardware, but rumors have both announcing or releasing new consoles this year albeit more minor update in style. Microsoft is expected to unveil its new Xbox at E3 this summer.
