Colin Callender’s Playground Entertainment (“Wolf Hall,” “The White Princess”) has optioned the rights to F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel “Tender Is The Night” with plans for a TV series take.
The 1934 book was “The Great Gatsby” authoer’s fourth and final completed novel and follows a young psychiatrist named Dick Diver and his wife Nicole, and it is thought the story somewhat mirrored Fitzgerland’s own life with his wife Zelda. The action takes place across several countries as Dick slowly unravels.
The project marks the latest Fitzgerald novel to head to the small screen following Amazon’s scrapped “The Last Tycoon” starring Matt Bomer and Kelsey Grammer. David A. Stern will produce the new take.
