Pirates Come To TV In “Port Royal”

Graham King’s GK-tv (Starz’s “Camelot”) and Gale Ann Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment (AMC’s “The Walking Dead”) are teaming to produce “Port Royal”, a pirate-themed hourlong drama series reports Deadline

Set in late 17th century Jamaica, the series chronicles the namesake towns notorious rise as the “richest and wickedest city” in the new world – a self-governing safe haven for cutthroat pirates, corrupt politicians and ruthless merchants.

Hurd, who came up with the idea, will executive produce the show alongside King and several of his underlings. It’s unspecified if this will go to network or cable, though more likely the latter.
