Piranha 3D Delayed Four Months

The Weinstein Company has pushed back the release of Alexandre Aja’s “Piranha 3D” by several months. Originally slated for April 16th, the film will now open wide on August 27th says The LA Times.

Officially the delay was to get it out of the way of Lionsgate’s movie “Kick-Ass”. Unofficially speculation is rife that the film needs some extra work on it, or that the distributor simply doesn’t have the finances to release and market the film just yet.

Meanwhile some new set photos from the film are up at Movieweb.
