CBS All Access’ upcoming high-profile “Star Trek: Picard” series is getting some tie-in print elements to fill in the twenty-year gap between the final pre-reboot film “Star Trek: Nemesis” and the new episodes.
Ahead of the early 2020 launch of the show, a number of prequel projects will be released and will tell the story of events that have impacted the former U.S.S. Enterprise captain before we see him in the new show.
IDW’s “Star Trek: Picard – Countdown” is a three-issue comic book series written by Mike Johnson and Kristen Beyer and follows a single mission that would change Picard’s life. That launches in November.
In February, Una McCormack’s novel “The Last Best Hope” will be released and will lead directly into the “Picard” series – introducing new characters appearing in the show.
Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway and Isa Briones co-star with Jeri Ryan, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Del Arco, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis reprising their roles. Michael Chabon is serving as showrunner.
