Nicole Kidman has four projects at the Cannes Film Festival this month.
Probably the least promoted at this point is “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” director John Cameron Mitchell’s film adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s short story “How to Talk to Girls at Parties”.
Today comes new photos and a poster for the film, which deals with both the birth of punk and the exuberance of first love, follows two teenaged boys who go to a party to meet girls – only to find that they are very different from the boys’ expectations (ie. they’re aliens).
Kidman plays an extravagant fashion and music entrepreneur who sees Elle Fanning’s mysterious alien character as a possible protege. Alex Sharp, Ruth Wilson, and Matt Lucas co-star.
A24 Pictures has already picked up the film but hasn’t set a release date yet.
