Following on from its premiere over the weekend at Butt-Numb-a-thon, the first official stills have been released from Dexter Fletcher’s “Eddie the Eagle,” the upcoming comedic biopic about famed Olympic skier Eddie Edwards.
“Kingsman” star Taron Egerton plays the title role with Hugh Jackman as his mentor in the film about the man who became a national hero in the UK after becoming the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping during the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
Eddie had no funding and farsightedness which forced him to wear glasses under his goggles and thus rendering him effectively blind during the jumps. Though placing last in the events, he was hailed a heroic failure. Christopher Walken is also onboard as the mentor of Jackman’s character in the film which is slated to open February 26th.
