Following the wrap of filming in late July, filmmaker Rian Johnson officially got to work editing “Star Wars: Episode VIII” on Monday and has posted a photo from his editing booth.
The “Looper” and “Brick” helmer along with editor Bob Ducsay are now putting together an initial cut which, like J.J. Abrams’ preceding “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” is expected to boast much in the way of practical effects.
John Williams is slated to score the film and indicated over the weekend that he begins his work on the project in a few weeks. “Star Wars: Episode VIII” remains scheduled for release on December 15th 2017.
Before that though we’ll get Gareth Edwards’ “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” which will hit cinemas on December 16th this year.
