Photo Of Ridley Scott On “Covenant” Set

To celebrate the 79th birthday of Sir Ridley Scott, 20th Century Fox has released a new photo from the set of “Alien: Covenant” – a photo teasing the return of a familiar sight.

The congratulatory message comes a day after the Directors Guild of America revealed they give Scott their top honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Motion Picture Direction. The Award will be presented at the 69th Annual DGA Awards on February 4th.

Said to be the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with “Prometheus,” “Alien: Covenant” connects directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 “Alien” and begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy and discover a dark, dangerous world inhabited by the synthetic ‘David’ from the doomed Prometheus expedition.

The film opens May 19th and it’s hoped the first trailer for it will arrive before the year’s out.
