Having sat out many of the MCU films in recent years bar a brief cameo in “Avengers: Infinity War,” Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury is coming back in a big way with a confirmation today that he’s set to appear in at least two if not all three Marvel Studios films opening next year.
We’ve already long known that Jackson will be playing a younger two-eyed version of his character for March’s “Captain Marvel,” and it’s widely expected he’ll have at least a cameo in the fourth “Avengers”. In July some set photos suggested Jackson was reprising his role for “Spider-Man: Far From Home” and now the actor has confirmed he’s doing just that with a photo of him getting into makeup as Nick Fury for the film’s shoot.
The Spidey sequel is currently filming in England with Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill character also expected to be a part of the action. Spider-Man and Fury haven’t met on the big screen as yet which makes the inclusion a surprise.
That film has been the subject of rumors via MCU Cosmic which indicates villains like Chameleon, Hydro-Man and Molten Man may make small appearances alongside returnee Vulture (Michael Keaton) and primary antagonist Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).
“Spider-Man: Far From Home” is slated to open in cinemas July 5th 2019.
