A new photo of Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle in his pre-Punisher days has premiered over at Empire magazine.
The shot, from a scene in Netflix and Marvel’s upcoming “The Punisher” series, show us a time when he was still a soldier in the military. That will only be a flashback for a brief part of the season, the primary focus will be set in the modern day with Castle on his killing sprees. Talking about his character to the outlet, he says:
“It [the killing] is the only thing that silences the demons, temporarily. There’s going to be an attempt to move beyond the Punisher, but that’s something he can’t shake. There’s part of me that’s hungry to get back into the darkness, that’s excited to see it fall apart.”
The cast includes Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Jason R Moore as Curtis Hoyle, Michael Nathanson as Sam Stein, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, and Jaime Ray Newman as Sarah Lieberman.
No air date has yet been set beyond a late 2017 airing.
