Pharrell Williams is teaming up with “Girls Trip” writer Tracy Oliver for a film adaptation of Danielle Vega’s young adult novel “Survive the Night” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The music-themed horror thriller follows a group of female college students trapped inside an underground warehouse music festival on Halloween. They must fight for their lives against a mysterious attacker who hunts them down throughout the night.
Oliver penned the script and will direct. Williams, Mimi Valdes, Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Dutton will produce. Williams, Valdes and Oliver previously collaborated on the Issa Rae-led web series “Awkward Black Girl” while Williams and Valdes previously teamed on both “Hidden Figures” and “Dope”.
