“Ant-Man” director Peyton Reed is in negotiations to return as director for the upcoming sequel “Ant-Man and the Wasp” at Marvel Studios and Disney Pictures.
Reed’s hiring marks one of the first deals surrounding Marvel’s recently announced movies which also includes three other untitled movies in the works set for 2020.
No writers have yet been secured, though it’s certain neither Edgar Wright or Joe Cornish will be back. Both Adam McKay and Paul Rudd also worked on the first film’s script and could well return though.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is currently targeting a July 6th 2018 release. The character will next be seen in next year’s “Captain America: Civil War”.
