Clark Peterson (“Monster”) is set to produce the true story “Dear Mr. Gacy” for Reel One says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on the memoir “The Last Victim” by college student Jason Moss, the student began corresponding with serial killer John Wayne Gacy in 1994, the last year of the killer’s life.
Moss eventually met Gacy on Death Row and even narrowly escaped an attack by him. Moss committed suicide in 2006.
Gacy rape and murdered 33 young boys between 1972 and 1978, and has since become infamous for his signature of dressing up in a clown outfit to entertain local kids at block parties.
William Forsythe (“The Rock,” “88 Minutes”) will play Gacy, while Jesse Moss (“The Uninvited”) will play the role of Jason Moss.
European director Svetozar Ristovski will make his English-language debut on the feature which Kellie Madison adapted. Gordon Yang is also producing.
Shooting kicks off this month in Vancouver.
