Pepsi Making “Back to the Future” Bottles

Pepsi has announced that it is set to release a new limited edition bottle on October 21st that ties in with the “Back to the Future” franchise.

In “Back to the Future Part 2,” Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly travels to the future – specifically October 21st 2015 – where he encounters hoverboards, automatic lace-up shoes, hovercars, and in one scene a distinct looking bottle of ‘Pepsi Perfect’.

Now, the company has created a limited edition collectible replica of that bottle – or more specifically just 6,500 bottles featuring that design. Those who want one will have to fork out $20.15 for the bottle which will be sold online – specifics of where have not yet been revealed. Pepsi will also be distributing 1,500 Pepsi Perfect bottles ahead of its general release during New York Comic Con this week.

Lou Arbetter, PepsiCo’s senior director of marketing tells USA Today: “Fans have always been a little crazy about it, and so we wanted to take advantage of the fact that Marty travelled to the future, to this month, and wanted to actually come out with the product.”
