It’s no huge surprise that a third “Jackass” got the green light at Paramount, but how did they convince the studio to pony up for the extra expense of doing the film in 3D?
Deadline New York says that converted footage of one of the stunts for the new movie is what got the project moving. That stunt? “The Heli-cockter”.
The sequence has Chris Pontius tethering a string to both a remote control-operated helicopter and his penis. The copter was then flying around in circles while Pontius was grinning and grimacing no doubt. Shortly after the screening, the film was given the go-ahead.
Paramount is releasing the film wide on October 15th.
