Simon Pegg and J.K. Simmons are set to star in the heist comedy “My Only Sunshine” from director Mark Palansky (“Penelope,” “Rememory”).
The story follows a passionate but dysfunctional married couple that devises a plan to rob a bank as a form of bloodthirsty marriage counseling.
They try to make peace with the mystery of their relationship throughout the violent hostage situation, one discovered by a cop hostage negotiator who previously investigated a past related crime.
Michael Mendelsohn, Matt Smith and Lawrence Mattis are producing and filming is slated to begin this Fall ahead of a 2020 release. No distributor is yet attached but the project is being sold at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.
