Though only appearing in a handful of episodes during the fourth season, actor Pedro Pascal made a major name for himself as fan favorite Oberyn Martell in HBO’s “Game of Thrones”.
Now, the actor has joined the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming sequel “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” taking on a role where the only detail at the moment is that he’s named Jack Daniels. It’s unclear if he’s the “swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy” style agent character who apparently plays a key role in this mostly U.S.-set outing.
Pascal will join returnees Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Edward Holcroft for this follow-up to “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” while Halle Berry is set to play the head of the CIA and Julianne Moore is in talks to play the villain.
The first film became a sleeper hit last year, grossing a whopping $415 million. Pascal also stars in “Narcos” on Netflix and has the Matt Damon-led “The Great Wall” on the way.
