“Pearson,” “The Inbetween” Both Cancelled

Pearson The Inbetween Both Cancelled

USA Network has revealed they will not renew their “Suits” spin-off “Pearson,” starring Gina Torres, for a second season. The decision comes a month and a half after the show closed out its first season run.

Torres reprised her role of powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson in the series as she enters the dirty world of Chicago politics. Universal Cable Productions produced the spin-off which had Daniel Arkin as showrunner.

Its demise wasn’t a surprise, the series ranking as USA’s lowest-rated original scripted series. Combined with the main show wrapping up its run in September after nine seasons, the “Suits” franchise is now done for on USA.

Elsewhere, NBC has cancelled its summer drama series “The InBetween” after one season which aired between May and August earlier this year. Harriet Dyer starred as a woman who is able to see visions of the past and future as well as communicate with the dead.

She uses her gifts to help her detective father solve a number of dark and puzzling murders. Justin Cornwell, Anne-Marie Johnson, Cindy Luna and Paul Blackthorne co-starred. The ten-episode run averaged around 2.6 million viewers in Live+Same Day while seeing little lift in delayed viewing.
