Robert Pattinson, Ben Mendelsohn, “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” villain Sean Harris, Tom Glynn-Carney, Lily-Rose Depp and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie are all set to join “Animal Kingdom” and “The Rover” director David Michod’s next feature “The King” for Netflix.
Timothee Chalamet and Joel Edgerton lead the cast of the project which blends Shakespeare’s two-part “Henry the IV” plays and “Henry V” into one narrative and changes the dialogue to make it more accessible.
Chalamet will play the young disgraced Hal, who inherits the crown during a rocky time in English history and must learn how to be king with the help of Falstaff (Edgerton).
Pattinson will play French prince The Dauphin, Mendelsohn will play King Henry IV, Depp will play French Princess Catherine, Glynn-Carney will play Hotspur, and McKenzie is Philippa.
Edgerton co-wrote the script with Michod. Production is about to begin in the UK ahead of being released on Netflix in 2019.
