Paramount is in negotiations to pick up Scott Rosenberg’s original supernatural family adventure script “The Hauntrepreneur” for Platinum Dunes to produce says Heat Vision.
The story follows a family that has trouble adjusting to a new town and hires a peculiar man, the Hauntrepreneur, to help it. The man attempts to bring them together by creating a haunted house populated by an odd cast of characters.
Despite Dunes making its reputation on horror remakes, the tone for this said to be akin to Tim Burton’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Rosenberg penned films such as “Con Air” and “Gone in 60 Seconds” before moving to TV with the likes of “October Road” and the failed U.S. remake of “Life on Mars”.
