Paramount Pictures has pulled its new “Rugrats” film from its planned January 29th 2021 release date and has not yet set a new one. The live-action/CG hybrid film was announced last year as part of a franchise revival that also includes a new Nick TV series.
Instead, the studio will replace it with “Rumble” – a Paramount Animation and WWE Studios feature set in a world where monster wrestling is a global sport and monsters are superstar athletes.
Will Arnett, Terry Crews, Geraldine Viswanathan and WWE stars Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns lead the voice cast for the film which was originally set for a July 31st 2020 date, but has now been pushed back six months.
Also today, the studio has announced that “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run” will be the title of the upcoming third “SpongeBob SquarePants” film opening May 22nd 2020.
Next, the Chris Pratt-led sci-fi action feature “The Tomorrow War” has set Christmas Day 2020 release. Pratt plays a man drafted to fight a future war in which the fate of humanity may rely on his ability to correct issues of the past.
