“Panther” & “Roma” Are RT’s Best of 2018

Rotten Tomatoes has handed out its awards for the films and TV shows that have received the best reviews of 2018.

Marvel’s “Black Panther” scored the award for best wide-release film with a 97% Fresh rating based on 443 reviews. Runners up included “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” “Blackkklansman,” “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and “A Star is Born”.

On the limited release front, “Roma” topped the rankings with a 96% Fresh rating from 312 reviews – beating out “Leave No Trace,” “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” “The Death of Stalin,” “Shoplifters” and “The Rider”.

The best new TV series was Amazon’s Julia Roberts-led “Homecoming,” just ahead of “Barry,” “Killing Eve,” “Cobra Kai” and “Vida”. The best returning series was “Atlanta” on FX ahead of “GLOW,” “The Good Place,” “Better Call Saul” and “The Americans”.
