Danielle Panabaker (“Friday the 13th,” TV’s “Shark”) and Joe Anderson (“The Ruins,” “Becoming Jane”) have joined the Oveture Films remake of the George A. Romero classic “The Crazies”.
Scott Kosar and Ray Wright’s script centers on the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply.
Panabaker plays a receptionist at the town’s medical center. Anderson takes on the role of the town’s deputy to lead Timothy Olyphant’s sheriff character. Radha Mitchell also stars.
Breck Eisner (“Sahara”) directs and shooting is set to begin March 5th in Georgia before moving on to Iowa.
