Whenever a film version of a TV property is made by Hollywood, there’s almost always at least some cameos from surviving cast members be it reprisals of their original roles, or more often bit parts with only a few lines that are more fan service than anything else.
With the new Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron-led film adaptation of iconic 1990s series “Baywatch” now in production, there’s been obvious questions as to which of the original cast members might pop up. One person who previously had no interest was that of the show’s most iconic female star Pamela Anderson.
Speaking with ET Online, the model and actress mentioned that she was offered a part in the film and, though having turned it down, she explained she’s open to the idea of another role in the project:
“I haven’t turned it down completely yet, but I have turned down what they offered me, but we’ll see what happens… Baywatch was such a huge part of my life. And really they’re trying to do an homage. It’s an honor to have them want me to be a part of it so bad. But I don’t know how it benefits me to be in the film…Who knows, we’ll see what happens.”
Anderson played lifeguard CJ Parker in the series, a role Kelly Rohrbach is taking on for the film. The new “Baywatch,” which has more of a comedic action tone to it than the original, is slated to open May 19th next year.
