Paddington Sequel Talk Already Underway

Boasting superb reviews and garnering over $200 million at the global box-office so far from a modest $55 million budget, it comes as little surprise that Studiocanal is looking into a sequel to the holiday hit “Paddington”.

Variety reports that Studiocanal chairman-CEO Olivier Courson is in talks with “Paddington” producer David Heyman for a sequel which will likely go ahead sooner rather than later.

Studiocanal financed, distributed and sold the first film which has become the highest grossing family film released by a non-U.S. studio to date. The company is now using that film’s success to explore more family tentpole fare.
