“Paddington” director Paul King has signed on to helm the upcoming film adaptation of the sci-fi novel “Time’s Fool” at Fox Searchlight.
Based on the novel of the same name from Glyn Maxwell, the story follows a young man who is cursed to ride a train for all eternity – except every seven years when the train makes a stop in his hometown and he is given a few hours to try and break the curse.
King will be re-teaming with Jon Croker, who provided additional material on the first “Paddington” film, to pen the script for the adaptation of Maxwell’s novel. King and Croker will produce alongside David Heyman.
King is currently working on a live-action adaptation of “Pinocchio” for Disney along with an origin story of the beloved Roald Dahl character Willy Wonka.
