Pacino’s “Emperor” Is Finally Happening

Killer Films is getting “Betsy and the Emperor” off the ground at last reports Variety.

Staton Rabin’s 2004 children’s book follows a 14-year-old girl who meets Napoleon after his exile on the island of St. Helena.

Al Pacino, who’s been attached to the project since its original incarnation over at Warner Brothers, will star.

John Curran will direct, taking over from French helmer Patrice Chereau. Brian Edgar is adapting the script.
