Lee Pace (“The Hobbit,” “Captain Marvel”) and Jared Harris (“Chernobyl,” “The Terror”) have been cast in the lead roles of Apple and Skydance’s upcoming big-budget sci-fi series “Foundation”.
Based on the Isaac Asimov novel series of the same name, the story chronicles the saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.
Harris plays Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius who predicts the empire’s demise. Pace is Brother Day, the current Emperor of the Galaxy.
David S. Goyer will serve as showrunner and executive producer with Josh Friedman, Robyn Asimov, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross executive producing. The series will launch on the Apple TV+ streaming service.
