In the wake of last week’s upfront presentations from the major free-to-air networks, some of the cable networks have decided to take back the spotlight and have dropped first look trailers for a couple of new series on the way.
Things kick off with Netflix’s witness protection drama “Ozark” with Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. The pair play the husband and wife of an ordinary family bar one tiny detail – the husband is the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico. And he wants out.
Also on the way is the Chris O’Dowd and Ray Romano-led “Get Shorty” series remake on Epix. The ten-part series is based on the Elmore Leonard novel about a hitman who wants to become a Hollywood producer.
Next comes the trailer for Netflix’s “Friends From College” starring Keegan-Michael Key and Cobie Smulders, and a preview for Sky Atlantic’s “Tin Star” starring Tim Roth as a former UK cop who relocates with his family to the Canadian Rockies.
All four shows are expected to premiere later this year.
