Owen, Wasikowska Offered “Oldboy” Roles

Clive Owen and Mia Wasikowska have apparently been offered the role of the villain and the female lead respectively in Spike Lee’s upcoming “Oldboy” remake reports Twitchfilm.

Josh Brolin stars as a man who is kidnapped on his daughter’s birthday and held for 15 years in solitary confinement without explanation.

Upon his release, he seeks revenge on his captor – only to learn the man (Owen) has plans for him more tortuous than solitary confinement.

If Owen accepts the role, one which Colin Firth was offered but ultimately passed on, it would mark his second project with Lee following on from 2006’s acclaimed “Inside Man”.

Wasikowska (“Alice in Wonderland,” “The Kids Are All Right”) has been offered the role of Marie which Rooney Mara was previously linked to.
