Clive Owen is in talks to join Will Smith in the Ang Lee-directed “Gemini Man” for Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media.
First set up at Disney in the 1990s, the story centers on an ageing assassin who tried to get out of the business but finds himself in the ultimate battle: fighting his own clone who is twenty-five years younger than him and at the peak of his abilities.
Will Smith will play both roles, with the younger version being achieved via digital de-ageing technology. Owen will take on an antagonist role.
Additionally, three major actresses are testing for the female lead in coming weeks – Tatiana Maslany, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Elizabeth Debicki.
Jerry Bruckheimer, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger are producing the film which will debut on October 4th 2019.
