Starz’s hugely popular “Outlander” series has set a September 10th premiere date for its long awaited third season following the second season’s wrap a full year ago.
‘Voyager,’ the third novel in Diana’s Gabaldon’s best-selling series, will be used as the basis of the new season as Claire (Caitriona Balfe) has returned to 1948 to her first husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) but is pregnant with Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) child.
In the 18th century, Jamie is dealing with his loss at the battle of Culloden and suffering from the loss of Claire. Attempting at life apart, Claire and Jamie can’t help but think of one another. Their next journey is to find each other.
Starz also revealed the official key art for the new season which you can see below. Filming took place over ten months in Scotland as well as Cape Town which will stand in for the West Indies.
