Starz has set an April 9th premiere for the second season of “Outlander,” almost a full year on from the first season finale in May last year.
Based on “Dragonfly in Amber,” the second book in author Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling novel series, the new season will be shorter at thirteen episodes. Due to this it’s likely this won’t be split in half like the first season – but that’s not confirmed as yet.
The network has also released the season two key art featuring Claire Randall Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) on the steps of Versailles as the new season shifts the action from the Scottish Highlands to 18th century France.
Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin join the cast for the new season.
