O’Shea Jackson Jr. To Play Dock Ellis

“Straight Outta Compton” actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. is attached to star in the title role of “Dock,” a biopic about baseball legend and Pirates team member Dock Ellis.

Ellis was a highly competitive loudmouth who suffered no fools and called out racism when he experienced it.

After a decade-long career in Major League Baseball, he admitted he had never pitched a game sober and afterwards sought treatment for his alcohol and drug addiction.

Ellis dedicated the rest of his life counselling those suffering from substance abuse problems, specialising in counselling professional athletes.

David Permut, Jeff Kwatinetz and Ice Cube are producing from a script by Joey Poach with a director currently being sought.
