Oscar Isaac (“Sucker Punch,” “Balibo”) has scored the male lead role in the education crisis-themed drama “Still I Rise” for 20th Century Fox and Walden Media says Variety.
Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis star as two frustrated mothers who team up to transform an inner-city public school. Isaac plays a sexy, ukulele-playing teacher who ultimately romances Gyllenhaal’s character.
Daniel Barnz (“Beastly”) directs from a script originally by Brin Hill which he then rewrote. Mark Johnson is producing.
