Oscar Isaac is in early talks to star in the political thriller “A Foreigner” at Paramount Pictures and Film Rites.
Chris Terrio (“Argo,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”) penned the script about a murdered Guatemalan man who has videos of his killers distributed after his death in order to uproot the corruption that led to the death of many others. The story is an adaptation of the 2011 New Yorker article ‘A Murder Foretold’.
Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”) is in talks to direct with Steve Zaillian, Steven Rales, Garrett Basch and Mark Roybal producing. Matt Damon was previously courted to make his directorial debut on the project.
Isaac’s commitment to shoot “Star Wars: Episode VIII” next year is likely to affect the film’s schedule which has yet to be set. He’ll next appear on our screens in May in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” and just recently wrapped filming Terry George’s “The Promise”.
