Orlando Bloom has pulled out of Lone Scherfig’s “An Education” due to scheduling conflicts says The Hollywood Reporter.
The coming-of-age drama is set in early 1960s London, and centers on a 17-year-old girl whose suburban life is about to be blown apart by the arrival of a 30-something playboy.
Dominic Cooper (“Mamma Mia,” “The History Boys”) is replacing Bloom in the project which begins shooting today. Shooting will continue through until May on location in and around London, Oxford and Paris.
Peter Sarsgaard, Carey Mulligan, Alfred Molina, Rosamund Pike, Olivia Williams, Sally Hawkins, Cara Seymour and Emma Thompson also star.
Scherfig (“Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself”) directs from a script by author Nick Hornby.
