Orlando Bloom Joins Abuse Drama “Romans”

Orlando Bloom has joined the cast of the Shammasian Brothers’ “Romans” which starts shooting in West London next week from a script by Geoff Thompson.

Set in present-day London and based on true-life events, Bloom plays a middle-aged man still trying to come to terms with crippling insecurity and reflecting back on the demons of the past two decades that have haunted him.

Said demons began with childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a trusted and idolized priest and the withdrawal of his mother’s love – leading him on a path of serial self-abuse and psychotic sexual jealousy. He soon makes the decision to forgive his abuser despite aching for violent revenge.

Sheetal Vinod Talwar, James Harris, Mark Lane and Jasper Graham will produce.
