“Orient Express” Clip Talks 65mm & Practical

20th Century Fox has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming murder mystery feature “Murder on the Orient Express” based on the iconic Agatha Christie novel.

The featurette goes into the level of detail of the production which included the use of the last four 65mm film cameras in the world. It also applied as much practical trickery as possible, which includes the old school use of projection to simulate the outside environment whizzing past the train as opposed to the more common green screen replacement tricks used today.

The story is a very contained one, but Branagh has gone out of his way to make this as lavish, old fashioned and stunning as he can. At the same time he plays famed detective Hercule Poirot in the film as he tries to solve the murder of one of the passengers aboard the train travelling from Istanbul to Paris.

Penelope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Tom Bateman, Marwan Kenzari, Olivia Colman, Lucy Boynton, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Sergei Polunin co-star in the film which opens November 10th.
