Oprah To Lead “Terms of Endearment” Remake

“The Butler” duo of Oprah Winfrey and director Lee Daniels are in talks to re-team on a remake of 1983 Oscar winner “Terms of Endearment” at Paramount Pictures reports The Wrap.

The studio has secured the rights to the project for Daniels to develop the project and Winfrey is lining up to take on Shirley MacLaine’s Oscar-winning role of smothering mother Aurora Greenway.

Filmmaker James L. Brooks helmed the adaptation of Larry McMurtry’s novel which covers three decades in the relationship between Aurora and her feisty daughter Emma (Debra Winger) and their struggle to find the courage and humor to live through life.

Jack Nicholson also starred as a retired astronaut who becomes MacLaine’s love interest.
