Oprah, Oyelowo To Get A “Butler”?

Oprah Winfrey is reportedly considering an offer to co-star in “Precious” director Lee Daniels’ next indie project “The Butler” says The Hollywood Reporter.

The biopic explores the life of Eugene Allen, a black man who worked as butler in the White House, serving eight presidents from 1952 to 1986. Danny Strong wrote the script which was rewritten by Daniels.

Daniels is reportedly after former “Spooks” actor turned “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and “The Help” actor David Oyelowo for the role of Allen. Winfrey would play Allen’s wife.

Hugh Jackman, Mila Kunis and John Cusack have all emerged as potential stars in the film with Kunis said to be up to play Jackie Kennedy and Cusack to play Richard Nixon.

While financing is still be assembled, a decision on the various actors is expected to be settled before the month is out. Pamela Williams is producing.
