One “Justice League” Star Was To Be Replaced

One of the key scenes cut from the theatrical release of “Justice League” was that of “Dope” actress Kiersey Clemons as Iris West being saved from a car crash by Barry Allen (Ezra Miller).

Clemons signed on to the solo “The Flash” film back when Rick Famuyiwa was directing, but as he left her interest in staying seemed to wane. She did film the scene for “Justice League” to help setup the ‘Flash’ movie which is currently going by the title “Flashpoint”.

However, with that scene axed, the producers were looking likely to recast – that is until the deleted scene with Clemons leaked online. A source claiming to be a VFX artist on the film says on Reddit:

“I’ve said before, we were replacing Clemons with a digital woman in the shot – Clemons was brought on because of Famuyiwa, when he bailed, it meant WB could recast her. That’s around the time the shot was cut. Now it’s been leaked online with her in it, they’ll probably stop all the work being done on it to replace her to stop fan backlash.”

Whether they will recast or not is up to both the actress and the studio at this point. In other DCEU news, “Shazam!” director David F. Sandberg has once again shot down rumors regarding his future with the film on Twitter while filmmaker David Ayer has indicated on Twitter that he now wishes he had made The Joker the main villain of “Suicide Squad”.
