Ondaatje’s “Slaughter” Of Bolden’s Jazz

“Coming Through Slaughter”, another work of “The English Patient” author Michael Ondaatje, is coming to the big screen says Variety.

Set in early 1900s New Orleans, ‘Slaughter’ tells the life story of Buddy Bolden, a legendary cornettist who was a formative influence on jazz and on greats like Louis Armstrong.

Emmy-nominated scribe Mark Bailey (“Pandemic: Facing Aids”) has adapted a script which Ondaatje has approved.

Paul Maslansky and Lars Bloch will produce.
